What this dock is designed to do
The current record accepts Thunderbolt 4, USB4, USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode. Display and charging behaviour can change depending on the host laptop, operating system and whether the connection is running in a full Thunderbolt/USB4 mode or a reduced USB-C fallback mode.

TBT4-UDZ: larger multi-display workstation dock
The TBT4-UDZ is a 16-in-1 Thunderbolt 4 design. Plugable publishes up to four 4K60 displays on compatible Windows systems, while supported M4/M5 and Pro/Max Mac configurations can use two 4K60 displays without DisplayLink.
It also provides a broader workstation port mix including 2.5Gbps Ethernet and card-reader connectivity. That makes it materially different from the TBT4-UDX1, whose core proposition is a simpler native dual-display Thunderbolt path with two downstream Thunderbolt ports.
